Initially, Cleaver left the show to participate in the touring production of Sister Act: The Musical across the UK this year. However, this venture follows Sue’s recovery from a hysterectomy last year. On Wednesday, Lorraine declared that she would be reprising her Coronation Street role in the near future.

Sue explained that she has a few months to fulfill her commitments with Sister Act: The Musical before returning to Corrie. We know that Eileen has had quite a rocky romance history, including marriage with serial killer Pat Phelan. Hence, the veteran actress hoped her character could finally find happiness with her current partner.

She asserted, “I think George (Tony Maudsley) and Eileen should have a big old-fashioned Coronation Street wedding.” Lorraine chimed in, emphasizing her desire for Eileen to find happiness as she has been unlucky in relationships with unsuitable men.

Last month, Sue discussed her recent health challenges on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast. She revealed that despite experiencing unexpected health complications, she is feeling better now. The seasoned actress expressed gratitude for the support she received from the Coronation Street team during her absence from the show.

Additionally, the Corrie star shared that her role in Sister Act has been physically demanding. She even posted a photo from the dance studio, expressing excitement about the rehearsals but acknowledging their toll on her.
