Sister Wives: Kody Brown DEFENDS Polygamy!
When Sister Wives aired in 2010, many people were outraged and didn’t like the show. However, Kody was adamant that he would tell the world how plural marriage is like any other marriage. He insisted that it was normal and should be accepted. Meanwhile, the patriarch struggled with his relationships, and now we know how they are going. Apart from that, Warren Jeffs has become the newest dark villain in Netflix’s docuseries. Therefore, people have started commenting back on the same things as before. More so, the TLC audience wanted to know about the Brown family’s views on FLDS Church and Warren Jeffs.
Well, Kody Brown has answered the question in his memoir, “Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage.” As per TheHollywoodLife, Kody Brown learned that the FLDS and the AUB church are very different. The family patriarch shares that there is a certain belief in celestial marriages. Hence, the father of 18 notes that the practices of FLDS have no place in his universe. He continued that incest and spousal abuse are serious crimes in his faith and often result in immediate legal action. Kody also claimed that he was resistant to coming out as a polygamist.
Hence, the show Sister Wives was important, and the patriarch wanted to condemn Warren Jeffs, the face of polygamy, for a long time. Papa Brown also honed that he has always disassociated himself from the negative connotations of child brides, sexual abuse, and religious oppression. Similarly, the reality star noted that the secrecy in FLDS led to the abuse of children and women.
Sister Wives: Has The Brown Family Has Connections With Netflix’s Docuseries?
Though Kody has enunciated that he does not support the FLDS church, the Netflix series does mention some of the names related to the Brown family. Names like Darger, Jessop, and Alfred were mentioned in the series. More so, each of these surnames does connect with the Sister Wives cast members. Christine Brown’s grandfather Alfred was supposed to join the FLDS church. But, the secret society did not acknowledge him. Hence, he then created the AUB.
Apart from this, Joe Drager and the Brown family are friends. In fact, the fans were shocked to learn about the surname Jessop. That’s because Merril now runs the FLDS group. Hence, the Sister Wives fans feel that he might be connected to David Jessop, the ex-husband of Robyn Brown. Similarly, most Jessop from Utah does know each other. However, it is still uncertain if there’s a connection between the Jessops. Stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers.
