Sister Wives cast members Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn initially wanted to showcase their harmonious plural family life. All of them were highly religious and followed Mormon beliefs under AUB. In fact, their church encouraged the plural family lifestyle, and that’s how Kody began expanding his family.
But a lot has happened in these years since the show premiered in 2010. Now, Kody and Robyn are the only couple in the family now. Since polygamy was a huge part of the family because of Mormonism, fans have been curious about where they stand now. Especially after the plural family has fallen apart now.
Sister Wives: Are Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine & Robyn Still Part Of The AUB?
Kody and the Sister Wives have become the most known faces in the reality TV world, thanks to TLC. In over a decade, they got a lot of fame and fortune because of their polygamous lifestyle. They had been open about their religious beliefs since the beginning. Their church comes under the Mormon fundamentalist group, Apostolic United Brethren also believes in polygamy.
The polygamist himself had mentioned that he believed in love being “multiplied.” Hence, Kody had four wives and later 18 kids of his own and then 5 grandkids. But now, Christine, Janelle, and Meri are no longer a part of the family. This made viewers curious if they let go of their religious beliefs after the separation.
Christine did mention that once a marriage comes to an end in their church, they get “released spiritually.” Then, the involved people have to “go through it.” But she didn’t want to go through the Church elders to end her marriage as she felt that decision was between “her and God.” As far as Meri and Janelle are concerned, they have not yet spoken about their stance yet.
Janelle did reveal she might end up dating eventually. She still had an interest in becoming a part of the polygamous arrangement again. So, it looks like her faith and beliefs are still intact. There have also been rumors about people spotting Meri with a new mystery man, but she, too, hasn’t spoken about her religious point of view since the divorce.
Sister Wives: Was Kody Forced Into Polygamy?
Kody has also been candid about his religious beliefs and faith. He mentioned having a “divine calling” of some sort that made him pursue polygamy. At the same time, the Sister Wives star has often questioned his “choices,” especially after a lot of things didn’t go as per his liking. It all began when Christine, and then Janelle, and later Meri ended up leaving the family.
Christine’s sister, Kristyn Decker, revealed that she feels Kody was forced into polygamy. As per her, many men from their religion do it because they end up feeling they just “have to do it.” It was heartbreaking for the famous sibling to see many of her brothers follow the same lifestyle and be unsuccessful at it.
In the new episodes, Kody has pretty much admitted he wants to be monogamous and work on his relationship with Robyn for a while. They also have a pact about leaving eachother if they ever fall out of love. It seems that they were forced to leave their church after not being a plural family anymore.
