The Seeking Sister Wife domestic violence scandal has taken a new turn this time. In the third season of the show, Dimitri and his ‘wife’ Ashley Snowden were trying to court two women together into their polygamous dynamic. These women were Tayler Monique, a henna artist from Atlanta, and Christeline Peterson, a single mom from South Africa. However, while the new season is still on the air, Peterson accused the TLC couple of physical and sexual abuse. She even got restraining orders against Dimitri.
However, her case was tossed over due to lack of evidence, and the restraining order was dissolved. This was when other sister wives of the couple, Vanessa Cobbs, who appeared in Season 2, and Tayler from Season 3, stood up in Christeline’s support. On top of that, another woman called Ariadne Joseph came out and told her story of how the Snowdens allegedly abused her. It has been around two weeks since the news of the alleged domestic violence broke out. However, despite everything, Dimitri is yet to come up with a public statement. His ‘wife’ Ashley has been posting ‘spiritual’ content on her social media. Although she also did not address the claims of any of her sister wives. Amid all this, it turns out that Dimitri has filed a divorce from Christeline this Tuesday in Los Angeles. As per TMZ, the divorce filing comes in response to Peterson’s accusations of domestic violence against Dimitri. The court dissolved the case and declared him not guilty. Hence, he’s taken the step against Christeline’s ‘false’ claims.
Seeking Sister Wife: When Did Dimitri Marry Christeline? What About Ashley?
As the news of the divorce filing broke out, fans began to question Dimitri’s marital status. It turns out that Dimitri and Christeline may have been legally married. Well, first off, he couldn’t have been able to file the divorce if they weren’t. On the other hand, this was already evident in Peterson’s domestic violence report against the Snowdens. In the reports, she mentioned Dimitri as her husband. However, now the question lies is whether he was also married to Ashley or not.
Well, as far as the show points out, Dimitri has only had “spiritual” marriages with all the sister wives. When his wedding to Vanessa and Ashley aired in Season 2, it was also a spiritual marriage and not a legal one. Hence, even though he calls Ashley his ‘wife’ from day one of Seeking Sister Wife, the two of them were never legally a married couple. On the other hand, fans and other media sources believe that Dimitri legally married Christeline only for a spousal visa. With it, they could’ve been able to bring her and her daughters to America from South Africa.
