King Charles III Keeps Royal Hotspots Relevant!
The Scottish Palace is no stranger to fame. It’s where the royal family escape in the summer, soaking in the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. However, Balmoral Palace also holds sad memories. Prince William and Prince Harry have stayed in the castle back August 1997 when the tragic car crash took Diana’s life in Paris.
Furthermore, Queen Elizabeth II herself spent her last moments there in 2022. The place was so dear to the late Queen and her family. Now, it’s our turn to take a good peek inside this historic spot. The Castle Internal Guided Tours promises a royal odyssey through time with its “several of the beautiful rooms.” It ranges from Queen Victoria’s era to how today’s royals use the space.
And get this: the tours of the royal castles of King Charles III are unlike any quick stroll. It will be one intimate experience, allowing only ten people per session. The excursions are set to run from July 1 to August 4 and currently cost about $126 a person. But hurry up and grab your tickets- the royal crew is selling the tickets like hotcakes.
The Crown Jewel of London Opens Its East Wing!
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace is opening its East Wing for the first time ever. This section of the castle has been off-limits until now. However, after five long years of restoration work, it’s ready for its close-up. Imagine standing on the front façade and iconic balcony where the royals have stood during milestone events since 1851.
These include several royal weddings and Trooping the Colour. The Royal Collection Trust says King Charles III and the royal family still uses this wing for official shindigs. However, here’s a fun fact: King Charles and Queen Camilla don’t actually live in these monarchy headquarters. The Palace is in the middle of a $460 million renovation, set to be finished in 2027.
In addition, royal biographer Robert Hardman suggested that the opening of Balmoral Palace is not just about showing off. It is to “bring benefits to the wider community and to remain in step with other stately homes.” What do you think about this new move? Drop your thoughts below.
