Adult Swim has recently dropped the first full trailer of Rick And Morty Season 5. The trailer is a complete hell of a ride and not to forget the spooky new villains. The trailer vows to take us on all set of classic 80s and 90s adventures with the Smith family and, of course, the titular duo. However, nothing is safe in Smith’s world, well, all thanks to Rick Sanchez as his nemesis Mr. Nimbus and Morty’s love interest Jessica’s returns. Surprise! Have a look at what else Rick And Morty have got for us?
Adult Swim’s hit series Rick And Morty has been on air since 2013. It is a blend of sitcom and sci-fic TV notions that altered the cliché of both genres to create a unique series. It follows the adventure of Rick, a torment, immoral brilliant scientist, and Morty, his kind-hearted grandson. They have spent their past seasons spoofing from Game of Thrones to Alien prequel Prometheus. And now they are all set for new adventures.
Rick And Morty Season 5: Trailer Teased Some New Adventure
Soon after the fourth season wrapped last year, Adult Swim released a short trailer teasing multi-dimensional events and Morty trying to save Rick. However, the recently released trailer teased at some strange events in this upcoming season. It seems the forthcoming season would spoof everything from 90s classic horror Hellraiser to hit Voltron to recent Aquaman. Even the trailer hints that this time, the entire family will stay together.
Hellraiser’s Farce Battle
In the trailer, both Beth and Rick appeared in the Cenobite-style villains, the S&M attire, and the final line “let’s raise some Hell” all points towards in one direction- Hellraiser. It means at least one episode would cover Clive Barker’s popular Hellraiser franchise. However, a Hellraiser parody is almost tardy, deeming the affection the creators have for 80s horror. In previous seasons, they came up with Wes Craven’s iconic devil Freddy Krueger of A Nightmare On Elm Street that turned as the perfect hit for the series.
Rick’s New Nemesis Mr. Nimbus
When the short teaser dropped last year, it was unknown whether the comical sea-based character Mr. Nimbus would really play a part in the upcoming season. But the arrival of Mr. Nimbus at the Smith house hints that he would be a real antagonist at least in one particular episode, given the series to spoof both Aquaman and Marvel’s Namor. However, Mr. Nimbus looks clear that the series would parody the Golden Age comic book character instead of the recent one.
Jessica And Morty Will Find A Way
For so long, Morty was trying to express his would-be love interest Jessica about his feelings, and now it seems the creators have given them a shot to express it. The trailer teased a significant role of Jessica promising a budding romance between each other. But the character behind them hints that they might go on an adventure, perhaps without Rick.
Smith Family Covering Voltron Parody
Well, the classic 80’s hit series Voltron won’t be familiar to current fans of the shows. But that doesn’t mean the creators wouldn’t spoof Voltron. As the trailer teased, the entire Smith family with a giant automobile would follow the exploits of five scientists of Voltron. They created a Transformers-kind massive car through their mechanical super-suits. Things are moving more excitingly as the entire family would work together for a common goal.
Rick May Take A Leave
The fourth season finale left us with a puzzle about whether Rick would leave the family or continue to live with them. However, a scene from the recent trailer teased that Rick might leave for a while. As Morty seems telling Summer that Rick warned the pair not to touch his belongings when he’s gone. It implies that Rick might leave the house for a while only as in the other parts Rick along with the Smiths working together to beat the villains.
Rick And Morty Season 5: When To Expect?
You just have to wait for a little more as the network has recently announced the show’s official release date. Rick And Morty Season 5 is scheduled to land on Adult Swim this spring, on June 20 at 11 pm. However, fans can watch the show on HBO Max as well.
