Princess Kate: Middleton Breaks Tradition While Celebrating Princess Charlotte’s Big Day!

Princess Kate and Prince William have another reason to celebrate this week! Princess Charlotte turned nine on May 2, and royal enthusiasts eagerly awaited the annual birthday photo. The Prince and Princess of Wales usually release portraits of each child ahead of their special day. However, the Waleses broke tradition last week for Prince Louis’ sixth birthday, and she’s taking the same approach this time. Check out!

Princess Kate: Middleton Breaks Tradition Again

Typically, Prince William and Princess Kate drop snaps for their kid’s birthdays under embargo the day before. However, they posted a picture of Louis on social media on his birthday instead of following the usual pattern. The same goes for the birthday girl!

The Wales royals posted a new snap of Charlotte on her actual birthday, indicating that they don’t plan to stick to their tradition. The caption reads, “Happy 9th Birthday, Princess Charlotte!🎂Thank you for all of the kind messages today.”

And again, the person behind the lens is none other than Princess Kate. Now, you might ask why there was such a sudden change. We reckon it is due to the unprecedented time the family is experiencing, especially after Kate’s cancer diagnosis. The past few months have been challenging for the Wales family. Kate had to break the news of her cancer diagnosis to her kids as gently as she could. Still, the future King and Queen did post a pic of Louis to thank those who had sent birthday wishes.

Princess Kate was born on May 2, 2015, at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London. The little one was christened Charlotte Elizabeth Diana at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham. Like her brothers, Charlotte mostly grows up away from the public eye. In addition, Charlotte attends Lambrook School in Berkshire with her brothers. Her last public appearance came on Christmas Day when the Royal Family made their traditional festive appearance.

Additionally, Charlotte joined her siblings at the annual Westminster Abbey carol concert. And let’s not forget how she volunteered for the Baby Bank in Holyport near Maidenhead. And here’s one more interesting fact about the royal princess! Charlotte made history at three when her younger brother Louis was born. Prince Louis didn’t overtake her in the line of succession due to a change in the rules of primogeniture. The new rule prioritises birth order regardless of gender.

We wish Charlotte a very happy birthday and a fantastic day filled with joy and fun! Meanwhile, don’t miss out on more such royal news over at TV Season & Spoilers!
