Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were close friends with Prince Harry, but they seemed to have switched sides now! The Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ “last friends” in the Royal family appear to have shifted their support to Prince William. It seems they are distancing themselves from the US-based royals. Eugenie and Beatrice have been long time friends of Harry, and the former has even visited Harry and Meghan at their US home in 2022. So what did they do to show their allegiance to the future King?
Prince Harry: Last of Harry and Meghan’s Friends Now Backing William
The York sisters recently turned up at a Buckingham Palace garden party while Prince Harry stayed busy across the pond. Their presence indicates support for Prince William as he continued his royal duties while Princess Kate recovered from cancer treatment. Eugenie wrote to her 1.8 million Instagram followers, “Come rain or shine, I was delighted to support my family yesterday.” Moreover, Woman’s Day reported that her older sister Beatrice has taken on more royal duties.
It comes up after cancer clutched the Reigning Monarch earlier this year. A source told the publication that Bea and Eugenie can’t imagine what William is going through right now. And it was an honour for them to give the Prince of Wales some support. They added, “The York sisters were firm not to let him down.” Furthermore, the palace insider revealed that the royal duo are full of joy to take a more prominent role in the family. On top of this, the royals have considered Beatrice “flawless” lately.
However, they also mentioned that the family had put Eugenie on an “unofficial blacklist” because she didn’t take the royal family’s sentiments into consideration. How? The royal hosted Prince Harry and Meghan at her Portugal home last year. Additionally, the insider said, “But that was last year, and she’s worked hard to prove her commitment to the royals.” Interestingly, the Princess of York didn’t contact the Invictus Games founder when she was in LA in February.
This definitely confirmed Harry’s worst fears: his last line to his family was over! Also, the source claimed neither Eugenie nor Beatrice had reached out to Prince Harry this year. They stated, “Everyone is focusing on getting Kate and William through this crisis.” Meanwhile, reports suggest William isn’t a fan of the King’s “slimmed-down monarchy.” Hence, the insider believes the future King views Eugenie and Beatrice as “assets” to the family.
