The Duke of Sussexes’ controversial memoir ‘Spare’ stirred the pot for many reasons. However, the part where Prince Harry admitted to using drugs has led to legal troubles. There is a question on whether Harry disclosed this information on his US visa application. Questions emerged about whether the US-based royal reported his past drug use when he applied for his US visa. In his memoir, Harry admitted to using cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms. Is he in serious trouble?
Trump Presidency Could Cause Issues for Prince Harry
The Heritage Foundation is leaving no stone unturned to cause mayhem for Prince Harry. The organisation is suing the US government to obtain the Invictus Games founder’s immigration records. Moreover, the Washington think tank wants to determine if celebrities receive special treatment.
They are keeping their eyes on the forms Harry filled out when he arrived in the US on March 14, 2020. For the US Visa, applicants usually have to disclose any recreational drug use.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes any irregularities in Harry’s documents might throw him under the bus. “Harry must regret having been so frank about drugs in his book,” Bond said. Additionally, the royal watcher explained how drug admission was not necessary for the story. Jennie told OK!, “I understand that he was trying to explain his mental health issues.” However, Bond warned that such confessions can have dire consequences, and hence, Harry must be feeling the heat.
She added, “I think Prince Harry is fine as long as the Biden administration continues to back him.” But she fears things might change if former US President Donald Trump returns to power. Despite this, insiders think it’s unlikely that the US would deport the royal. Why? They believe that lawyers would find a way around it, maybe through any loopholes in the law. Still, the whole situation must be causing Harry some worry and embarrassment.
Bond predicted, “I suppose if the worst came to the worst, they would have to find somewhere else to live.” However, she doubts it would be Prince Harry’s motherland, the UK. “Perhaps Canada would look kindly on them. But I don’t think it will come to that.” Will the Land of the Free really force Harry to leave? Drop your thoughts below. And keep an eye on TV Season & Spoilers for your daily dose of Royal Updates!
