Adam recognized that there could be something wrong with his wife. Indeed, the couple went to the hospital for a checkup. Adam confronted that moment as “It was like a gut punch; I wasn’t quite ready for that.” Danielle and Adam Busby sat down for a follow-up appointment with the doctor via video call. And then, Danielle asked the doctors what actually was going on with her body.
Adam, for the first time, felt fear in Danielle’s voice. And the doctors revealed to the couple that there is the possibility of a hole in Danielle’s heart. The condition is referred to as an atrial septal defect. In order to confirm the condition, the transesophageal echo will be performed on Danielle. He explained to the couple that the probe will be put down to Danielle’s throat so as to examine the condition. Obviously, it was a lot of information for Danielle to process at once. The star expresses, “I’m scared.”

Fans wish the Busby family the strength to get through their tough period. After hearing the shocking news, Adam wondered and asked the doctor whether Danielle’s condition will require the opening of the chest. To that, the doctor said the couple ‘to take one thing at a time.’ Whether the chest will be opened or not will depend on further intervention. The surgery will only be done when the hole in the heart is confirmed.
After having the appointment, Danielle shared her feelings in front of the camera. Even though she didn’t cry, her words literally brought tears into the viewer’s eyes. She was shaky, scared, and in miserable condition. The star explained, “This is going to be the most invasive procedure that I’ve had yet.” It scares the hell out of her.
Well, not only the procedure of taking a tube inside her throat will be scarry but also the result after that. The mother of six speaks of not wanting to have the surgery. All that she has in her mind is her family. Danielle says, “What about my family?… It’s scary.”

Danielle then described her condition as if she was about to have a heart attack. The star thought it to be some kind of autoimmune disease.
