My 600-lb Life Star Gina Alleged Dr. Now Prescribed An Extreme Diet for Weight Loss
The reality TV star alleges that Dr. Now prescribed her a weight loss diet that was way too extreme. But according to her, the producer’s narrative required to portray Gina as a person who was unable to follow that diet. So, she stated that they required her to consume excessive food.
Gina made her appearance on season 8 episode 5 of My 600-lb Life. At the time of her weight was 588 pounds. The lawsuit also indicated that they didn’t allow Gina to proceed under the care of Dr. Now as he was disappointed.
According to the lawyers, the producers used her for the ratings. In the process, they neglected the well-being and welfare of the reality TV stars who made an appearance on My 600-lb Life. She also claimed that before they put her on such an extreme diet, they failed to provide a psychological evaluation and mental health services. This, in turn, caused her intense emotional distress. All in all, the accusation reveals that the production put ratings above her health.
My 600-lb Life: The Allegations Don’t End Here
The reality TV star also alleged that the producers were well aware of the fact that people on extreme diets are more prone to suicide as well as depression. But according to the producers’ response, her injuries were because of her very own negligent conduct.
There were 5 cases going on against them and Gina decided to join hands with other costars who were in the same position as her. Unfortunately, it looks like the case is still ongoing and is nowhere near the end. After her reality TV appearance, Gina remained active on social media.
