Amazon had given the go-ahead to Modern Love Season 2 back in 2019, and ever since, fans have been waiting for the show. It has been more than a year since we last saw all the twisted and much-in-love stories on the show. Minnie Driver Joins The Cast Of Modern Love Season 2
As per the latest reports from Variety, Actress Minnie Driver has joined the cast of the upcoming season of Amazon, Modern Love. We don’t yet know anything about what character she will portray in the anthology series. But what we know that this is the first name that has popped up on the list. Other than Driver, we don’t yet know who would join the cast for the second season. Some actors who appeared in the first season of Modern Love included Anne Hathaway, Andy Garcia, Tina Fey, and Catherine Keener.
Driver has been a part of a number of productions throughout her career. Recently she appeared on NBC’s revival of the tv show- Will & Grace. She was also a part of the ABC single-cam comedy Speechless. Driver also started in the FX series The Riches. For her role in The Riches, the actress also bagged a Golden Globe nomination in 2008.
Driver is also a celebrated film actress who has received an Oscar nomination for her supporting role in Good Will Hunting. All her other roles include Circle of Friends, Grosse Pointe Blank, Sleepers, Big Night, and The Governess. Viewers will get to see the actress in Sony’s upcoming musical- “Cinderella later in 2021. The actress is represented by CAA, an independent Talent Group, Morris Yorn, and Untitled Entertainment.
As for who else we might get to see in the next season, the creators have kept all the details about it under wraps. Behind the stage, John Carney will act as the showrunner. Todd Hoffman, Anthony Bregman, and Trish Hofmann will serve as the executive producers for Modern Love Season 2.
When Will The Second Season Release?
Modern Love Season 2 was renewed in October 2019, soon after the first season of the series released. Then, reports suggested that it would release sometime in 2020. But then, filming for the season was paused because of the COVID pandemic, and all plans were postponed. But then, in September 2020, the team declared that they were looking for the extra cast for the next season. Later in October 2020, reports revealed that the filming for Modern Love Season 2 had commenced in Washington Park.
Keeping in mind that the second season of the series has already commenced production, viewers can expect to get the new episodes sometime in 2021. While we do not have any official confirmation about the release date, we can hope that some news about it would surface soon.
