Tom spilled the beans in an editorial he wrote for the Daily Mail. The expert’s hunch comes after Markle’s ex-aide, Samantha Cohen, took the lid off her harsh treatment. Dive in to know all about it!
Meghan Markle: The Royal Aide Accuses Meghan of Mistreatment
Buckingham Palace grilled Samantha during their probe into bullying claims against the Duchess. The ex-staffer accused Meghan Markle of creating a hostile workplace environment a while back. The royal aide served Queen Elizabeth earlier as an assistant communications secretary in 2001. Samantha took on the role of private secretary to the Sussexes in 2018 before quitting shortly after.
Moreover, Bower wrote, “Certainly, I believe that Ms. Cohen was soon exasperated, within six months.” Meghan Markle might have failed to understand the non-negotiable elements of royalty. “Members of Samantha Cohen’s team viewed this as irresponsible self-indulgence. Both sides would blame a clash of cultures,” Tom added. Now, let’s hear it from Samantha herself!
Cohen was “treated harshly” and felt like she was babysitting teenagers. Additionally, the staffer told the Herald Sun that her replacement, whom they found in almost 18 months, soon quit after a tour with the Sussexes in Africa. It looks like the royal rollercoaster ride was a bit too much for them to handle! And get this: Markle even allegedly gave the boot to two PAs from Kensington Palace in 2018.

The same year, Jason Knauf told Prince William’s private secretary that Meghan Markle did not treat his staff well. One staffer “felt sick while others told Jason, “I can’t stop shaking” and “I feel terrified.” The run-ins with Meghan were no less than a horror movie! Furthermore, Bower recounted that William gave Markle the side-eye for her behaviour.
Tom revealed, “Harry was outraged — but the accusations, whether justified or not, were a matter of fact.” Who knows, a certain level of staff turnover might be a factual reality? Moreover, Meghan Markle reignited the drama in the popular 2021 interview with Oprah before the tea could cool down. Markle responded to allegations about reducing staff to tears: “It’s not my job to coddle people.”
