Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s kids, Archie and Lilibet have spent almost no time in the UK. It’s going to stay the same way as the little ones won’t be flying to the UK anytime soon. There’s talk that King Charles III is “desperate” to meet his grandkids, but Markle stays put.
The whole Megxit saga and post-bashing have left things pretty tense between the Sussexes and the royal family. This leads to Harry’s kids barely hanging out in the UK. Earlier, Charles even extended an invite to them for a summer hang at Balmoral, but Meghan was not biting. Find out more!
Meghan Markle: The Duchess Isn’t Keen on Bringing Kids to Britain
Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths believes that Meghan Markle isn’t onboard with the idea of visiting Britain. “Even if Harry comes, I can’t imagine a world in which Meghan comes over with the kids, it’s really sad.” Moreover, Charlotte says that the Duchess isn’t into the whole vintage royal vibe. She just can’t imagine herself chilling in the highlands all summer.
Earlier, reports surfaced about King Charles being eager to see his grandkids. He even extended the olive branch to Meghan Markle and Harry, keeping his ego aside. The King thinks life’s too short not to reconnect with his younger son’s little ones.
The insider revealed, “Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion.” However, it’s still up in the air if the Sussexes will take the bait. The royal couple jetted off to the United States after bouncing from their royal duties in 2020.
Furthermore, Meghan Markle and Harry have only popped by Britain on special occasions since then. Their kids have only touched down once, for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee bash. As for Markle, she never set foot in the UK since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022. The Duchess even ditched King Charles’s Coronation in May 2023, leaving Harry to fly solo.
Harry’s UK Visit Remains Doubtful
So, we’re not sure if the Balmoral trip is still on the cards but Harry might visit the UK. He’ll fly back next month for the Invictus Games anniversary. Additionally, the Duke is slated to give a speech at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8th. But again, there’s a question mark on whether he’ll actually make it or not. The issue is due to Meghan and Harry’s worries about security.
And we all know how that’s going- Harry stands at the losing side after the high court rejected his appeal. Will Charles ever get to cherish moments with Archie and Lilibet? What do you think? Until then, don’t forget to check out TV Season & Spoilers for more royal scoops!
