Meghan Markle Has A New Nigerian Title, FIND HERE!!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited Nigeria last month for three days. The couple made a trip that is in relation to Markle’s recent discovery of Nigerian heritage. They were on an unofficial royal tour and went to address points related to the Archewell Foundation and Invictus. While the Duke and Duchess were there, they travelled to a place called Iwo, where Meghan was given a new title. Read here to know the title!!

Meghan Markle Has A Distinguished Title, She Is Grateful

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s trip faced a lot of backlash from royal family fans. Royal experts and authors have said everything terrible that was possible.

However, the Duke and Duchess seemed to have a good time in the South African country which was visible through the pictures available online. During their visit, they visited Iwo, where Meghan was honoured with a distinguished title. The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, presented her with a traditional chieftaincy and bestowed the Yoruba name Adetokunbo upon her.

After receiving this traditional Chieftaincy Title, Meghan expressed her gratitude in a heartfelt letter to Oka Akanbi. She thanked him for the honour and for trusting her with it.

Furthemore, her letter conveyed her emotions properly: “Your Imperial Majesty, thank you for your warm welcome to Nigeria. I am deeply humbled by your blessing of the traditional Yoruba name, Adetokunbo. I treasure the name and appreciate your trust in me to carry it with grace and dignity.” This letter was first reported by Western Post. 

Duke & Duchess’ Visit Was Special

In addition, Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit to Nigeria was special for several reasons, especially for the Duchess. This gave her an understanding of her heritage in Nigeria, a journey that extends to her kids. Meghan signed off her letter as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex which emphasised the personal importance of this connection.

The couple, along with royal ceremonies, also visited local schools where she saw herself in them. As for Prince Harry, she shared that these trips are really important to them and how the real change comes from being on the ground.
