It’s been ten years since Whitney Way Thore became a TV sensation due to My Big Fat Fabulous Life. Over these years, MBFFL viewers often saw her go on multiple dates, in search for the one. Even in the upcoming season of the show, the trailer gave away that Whitney is going to be going through a mid life crisis.
It turns out, one of the reasons why Whitney is in such a state is because of her inability to move on from her ex, the mystery Frenchman. In an interview with ET, the star mentioned how it’s been a year since they broke up in April 2023. But she is still in love with him. The host could see how emotional Whitney was getting while speaking about the matters of the heart.
Whitney mentioned how she is trying to get back into the dating pool. But there have been limited options in her small city of Greensboro, North Carolina, as there is “not enough to pick from.” Her standards are also set so high because she is still in love with the Frenchman. In fact, the MBFFL star wishes she was desperate because if she truely was that way, she’d have found somebody.

While being candid about her relationship, Whitney mentioned the reason why she and the Frenchman decided to call it off. She explained that becoming a reality TV star has a negative side. Apparently, the mystery boyfriend didn’t want his life to be public.
At the same time, the Frenchman saw how crazy the internet got while trying to uncover his identity on the internet after finding out about him through the MBFFL episodes. Hence, he decided to protect and prioritize his privacy and broke up with Whitney. But the latter still feels he is the “best man she has ever known.”
