The soap’s fans, cast, crew and everyone else even remotely associated with it have been sending in their wishes to General Hospital to achieve this milestone. Currently, Ron Carlivati is the head writer for Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. However, prior to this, he was serving as the head writer for General Hospital. It was a stint that started off wonderfully but ended on a sour note. Recently, Ron took to his Instagram account to post an anniversary wish for the ABC soap. He shared that he started watching General Hospital as a ten-year-old. Furthermore, he added that he grew up on the Quartermaines, the Scorpios, Anna Devane, Heather Webber, Lucy Coe, and countless others. Ron admitted that his love for these characters led him to become a soap writer.

Ron added that there are many wonderful, talented people on General Hospital, and he wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. However, this is where the sweet note took a sour turn. The ex-head writer then confessed that his journey on the soap ended on a bad note. Moreover, he pointed out that there are many people on the soap who owe him an apology, but he’s convinced that he won’t be getting it. He then signed off by congratulating “the rest” and wished General Hospital many more years and achievements.
For the unversed, Ron Carlivati came on board as a head writer for General Hospital in 2012. It was around the same time when ABC had pulled the plug on two massively popular Daytime soaps. Thus, General Hospital became the sole standing soap of the network, and the pressure was certainly intense. However, popular opinion remained that Ron did well during his time on the soap. He even won the Writers Guild Association award for Best Writing in Daytime Serials in 2015. However, by then, he had left GH and moved to Days of Our Lives.
His departure from General Hospital was largely due to his falling out with some very popular names of the ABC soap. Those names included Anthony Geary (ex-Luke), and Maurice Benard (Sonny). Ron had shared that the actors had developed a disdain for him and started to refer to him as “the writer”. Maurice had even mentioned in a 2015 fan event that they got rid of the writer and that it was stupid that he wasn’t a fan of him (Maurice).
Well, perhaps it’s true that the drama on the screen is often borrowed from society! Because as we can see, the real-life here is just as dramatic as the one in Port Charles! Anyhoo, we hope that all individuals involved someday find the means to bury the hatchet. It’s a short life, and it should not be wasted in holding grudges! Do you agree? Tell us in the comments. Meanwhile, stay tuned to ABC to see what happens next on General Hospital!
