Tensions are at an all-time high in the Little People Big World fanbase. That’s because the new season, i.e., Season 23, just had its premiere on TLC. As predicted, there were lots of talks about the property dispute for Roloff Farms. In fact, the meeting took place weeks before filming began. Therefore, both Zach and Matt presented their sides of what went on during this negotiation. While doing that, the elderly LPBW castmate ended up stating his son wasn’t good enough for the farm! Keep reading to know all the details.
LPBW: Matt Had Issues With Zach Taking Over The Farm! Didn’t Say Yes To His & Tori’s Offer?
Eversince the LPBW first look dropped, fans have only been talking about Zach and Matt’s property feud. At the beginning of the show in 2006, the doting father had talked of his dream to let his kids take over his property once they grow old. However, it couldn’t happen. In fact, Zach Roloff had an interest in taking over the north side of the farm. However, his father, Matt, didn’t allow it. While talking about this, he made some bitter statements.
During Matt’s confessional with Caryn, he finally says that he doesn’t think any of his kids have the “passion” to take care of the farm. That’s because they aren’t serious about taking over the “work” that will be involved in looking after the property. As a result, Zach found this very “offensive”. Moreover, his wife, Tori Roloff, also expressed frustration at this by stating she felt bad seeing someone talking to her husband this way. Apparently, the couple wanted to take over 32 acres of the property, while Matt only wished to offer 15.
As the north side belonged to Matt and his ex Amy, he bought her off the place after their divorce. Hence, the 60-year-old Matt Roloff became the sole owner. At that time, the matriarch’s former land was worth $975k, and Zach was willing to give more than that. However, this didn’t sit right with Matt as he stated the prices had gone up since he bought his ex-wife’s shares. As a result, this also caused more rifts between the father-son duo.
LPBW: Zach Objects To Caryn’s Involvement In The Farm Meeting!
As Matt and Zach talked of their separate perspective about the farm feud, fans found out another shocking detail. Apparently, Matt’s girlfriend, Caryn, was also part of the meeting. As a result, Zach ended up saying that he didn’t like that his father’s girlfriend was there for their business meeting. Moreover, the LPBW side cast member Chandler said, “this is over,” and “we can’t do that”. Therefore, the famous son felt these words should have come from his father instead.
Moreover, the fans also objected to Caryn’s involvement. As per them, it was fine for Zach and Tori to become part of the meeting. That’s because both of them were bringing funds to the table to buy the farm. However, Caryn is neither an owner nor a part of the family as she and Matt aren’t married yet. Despite this, Matt Roloff defended her by saying she was his extra pair of “ears,” ensuring Matt’s interests were under protection. At last, he also referred to Caryn as his life partner.
