Little People Big World alum Jacob Roloff mostly remains aloof from social media or the glam industry, for that matter. However, he recently came forth to accuse a show producer. He took to his social media to share his ordeal while he was a part of the TLC show. Apparently, he was molested by one of the showrunners, and now, he stepped forward to share the incident. Let’s take a dig.
Little People Big World: Jacob Shares About Childhood Trauma
Recently, Jacob Roloff took to Instagram and shared a lengthy message on his traumatic childhood experience. He accused Chris Cardamone, an executive field producer on the TLC show, of molesting him. He continued by saying that he would not delve into details. However, he wanted to get everything out of his system to lead a more fulfilling life. This would further help him in reaching out to other child sexual abuse survivors.
As mentioned by Pop Culture, Jacob claimed that Chris texted him in 2015, some years after the alleged incident. He thought of releasing an official statement back then but he didn’t. However, in all the intervening years, he found the strength to put forth his experience and talk about it. He believes that sharing about the incident would make people believe him when he talks about child sexual abuse, child exploitation, and reality television’s collateral costs.
Jacob Stands In Solidarity With Sexual Abuse Survivors
Jacob went on to reveal that he needed time to process everything that happened to him. He has already criticized the show for being insensitive. In this message, he notes that there needs to be more thought and consideration for the ‘complex human beings’ on these programs. He concluded the post by saying that the fault lies with the perpetrator and not his family. According to him, Chris should never be allowed around the children. Having said that, Jacob would always stand in solidarity with the silent survivors of sexual abuse.
Jacob Slams The TLC Show For Misrepresenting Its Characters
Jacob Roloff is often seen slamming the TLC show for portraying unnecessary drama. He left the show when he was able to and feels it was best for him. He claims that the reality show weaves a false narrative and puts out everything wrong. Jacob also shared that the agenda of the crew does not match with the ‘health and happiness’ of their family. That resulted in miscommunication with his family. However, when Jacob realized what was going wrong, he decided to quit it.
