King Charles III is itching to spend more time with his grandchildren and Harry’s kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. According to the reports, Charles wants to build a relationship with the little ones whom he has met only a few times. Amid the cancer setback, the Monarch longs more than ever to meet Harry’s munchkins. Currently, he only gets to meet Archie and Lilibet virtually via video calls. But the King’s not having it! King Charles III: Monarch’s Longing for Archie and Lilibet Intensifies
King Charles III finds it frustrating to meet his grandchildren through a screen. He wants to connect and have a closer bond with them. Moreover, Queen Camilla reportedly supports this effort, encouraging her husband to fortify his relationship with them. Recently, the King gifted Lilibet “a heartfelt gift and card” for her third birthday, just like any caring grandfather! Royal commentator Michael Cole told MailOnline that the Monarch feels a “lack of closeness with his California grandchildren acutely.”
Additionally, he noted that while Charles appears joyful and content, his main regret is not seeing Prince Harry’s kids more often. The former BBC correspondent emphasised that the two “innocent young children” are growing up without much “real contact” with the royal realm.
Furthermore, as King Charles III carries on with his cancer treatment, he “would welcome the pleasure and comfort of seeing his grandchildren.” Cole added, “Painfully aware that time is precious, Charles regrets that he cannot be closer to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.” He highlighted that the distance of 5,000 miles between Clarence House and California doesn’t keep them apart.
The KEY Reason Behind This Separation
Michael believes the antipathy between the Sussexes and King Charles III (and other royals) has created a deep divide. The ongoing feud is making normal family relationships almost impossible. In addition, he pointed out that Harry and Meghan’s actions further strained the relationship. It’s like every harsh word written and cruel sentence uttered by the Sussexes against William, Kate and Camilla intensifies the rift.
Cole also stressed how Archie and Lilibet are just “two innocent young children who are growing up without any real contact with their royal cousins in Britain, not to mention their grandfather, the head of the family, the King.” As Charles undergoes treatment for an unspecified cancer, he would welcome the comfort and joy of seeing his grandchildren more frequently. Subsequently, Archie and Lilibet can’t even have real contact with their royal cousins in Britain.
