King Charles III got quite emotional listening to Prince William’s view about his royal future in a 2019 documentary. The clip from the documentary Prince Charles is making rounds again amid Charles’s fight against cancer.
In the clip, William was chatting with a second-generation farmer named Mervyn Keeling about his private estate. He mentioned that he had “started to think about” how he would inherit the Duchy of Cornwall estate’s inheritance plans. Keep scrolling to know all about it!
King Charles III: Will’s Remarks Astonish the King!
Prince William said, “I think it’s really important, the family angle. I really do.” Then, King Charles III appeared in a private interview and talked about William’s conversation with the farmer. Moreover, Charles reflected on Will’s remarks, which really caught him off guard. He said, “I was deeply touched and moved by what he said.” And guess what? William’s words reduced the King to tears.
He added, “I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made the last 50 years worthwhile.” Prince William officially became the Duke of Cornwall and inherited the duchy when Charles became King in September 2022. So, the clip popped up two months after Buckingham Palace let slip the news of the King’s health scare. Furthermore, they revealed that His Majesty was undergoing surgery to treat an enlarged prostate.
The Palace added that King Charles III had begun regular treatment, and doctors advised him to postpone public-facing duties. During this time, he will carry on with State business and official paperwork as usual. Later, insiders spilled that Charles was fighting pancreatic cancer and has two years to live. Additionally, Charles’s cancer battle got many royal watchers thinking about whether William would take over the throne sooner rather than later.
Another source told In Touch that King Charles III was “impressed” with how William has taken on some of his royal duties. They believe that Charles might consider stepping down for the sake of the monarchy. So, “William and Kate will be crowned king and queen much sooner than anyone expected.”
