King Charles’ Portrait Vandalised By Animal Rights Group
The first official portrait of King Charles ever since his coronation was under attack on Tuesday. This painting by British artist Jonathan Yeo was defaced with a picture of a character from the animated franchise. The cartoon show franchise is called ‘Wallace and Gromit’, and animal rights groups pasted the picture of Wallace on the monarch’s face. Moreover, the Animal Rights Activists also shared the video online.
We can see two individuals approaching the portrait of Charles and placing Wallace’s head onto his face. This vandalism attack left other people shocked. Furthermore, a speech bubble sign was also pasted on the painting with the following information, “No cheese, Gromit, look at all of this cruelty on RSPCA farms.”
This sentence refers to the animated character’s fondness for cheese. And ‘the alleged animal cruelty at a number of farms certified by the Royal Society.’
Furthermore, the group released a statement that the painting had not been damaged since they used water spray to paste it. Meanwhile, Daniel Juniper, one of the involved activists, said, “With King Charles being such a big fan of Wallace and Gromit. We couldn’t think of a better way to draw his attention to the horrific scenes on RSPCA Assured farms!”
It seems like Juniper wants His Majesty to reconsider his association with farms endorsed by the RSPCA. He also said that the monarch has previously shown sensitivity towards animals in the UK. In addition, this would be a good time to step up.
Even though the painting was set to public display at the London Gallery until June 21, this vandalism attack might change the course. For more such royal scoop, keep following TV Season & Spoilers!
