As the court trial of controversial TV celebrity Josh Duggar has begun, things keep taking intense turns. In April 2021, the star was under arrest for possessing and receiving child porn content off the internet. However, after much postponement, a trial was to take place from November 30. So, shocking details came into the limelight. Looks like the arrestee’s siblings Jill and Jedidiah will represent themselves as witnesses in the courtroom. Keep reading to know all the details.
Josh Duggar Trial: Judge Mentions Duggar Siblings Jill and Jed In Witness List!
The court trial of Josh Duggar kickstarted on November 30, 2021. As reported by TheSun, everyone present in the courtroom was shocked over the jury selection. It turns out, US district judge Timothy Brooks read out the names of all the witnesses in front of 52 possible jurors. This included Jill and Jedidiah Duggar, who are the younger siblings of the arrestee. He, later on, asked whether any of the jurors knew both of them. All of them revealed that they didn’t. However, it hasn’t been clarified whether the Duggar duo will be testifying from the defense or the prosecutor’s side.
There is a lot of speculation on the internet stating that Jill will speak from the prosecutor’s side. That’s because there are reports stating that Josh Duggar went as far as molesting his own sisters in the early 2000s. This included Jill. Through the years, she has never had a stable relationship with the rest of the Duggars. In fact, she exited from TLC’s spin-off ‘Counting On.’ The ex-reality star and her husband, Derick Dillard, have always been upfront about shunning the family’s orthodox and religious beliefs. As a result, they aren’t on the very best terms with the rest.
Turns out, the 30-year-old also went through a transformation before her court appearance. She flaunted her blonde hair makeover on the internet days before the hearing. All the Duggar daughters have kept their hair unchanged to stay in touch with their religious beliefs. TLC viewers believe that Jill did the opposite of that as an act of rebellion. Unfortunately, nothing for sure can be confirmed yet until further details are received.
Josh Duggar Trial: Judge Allows Past Molestation Data To Become Part Of Recent Trial!
Ahead of the court trial, an evidentiary hearing took place. The session happened to discuss an important aspect of the case. It was whether to include past molestation charges against Josh Duggar in the current child pornography trial. The defense team of the supposed felon was against the same since Josh was a teenager at the time. Furthermore, there were no charges pressed against him due to the disturbing act.
During the verdict, the district judge overruled this argument. He stated that the girls Josh Duggar molested all those years ago were the same age as those found in the illegal videos. Therefore, he believes that the charged individual still has the tendency to violate children that young. Stay tuned to TV Season and Soilers for more updates regarding Josh Duggar’s ongoing trial.
