Jim Bob Duggar Took Son To Authorities After His Alarming Confession
At the Arkansas Court, noted TV personality Jim Bob Duggar testified for his son’s molestation case. There were instances of his son indulging in molestation of minor girls from the early 2000s. It came to light in 2015. A police report from 2006 went public that year which was obtained by In Touch Weekly. The Duggar family patriarch addressed the same case in his testimony. The report was available in front of him to read. So, he claimed he couldn’t “recall” the information.
The former TLC star mentioned finding out about his son’s horrifying acts in 2002. Josh Duggar was 14 at that time. The arrestee admitted to molesting young girls since the age of 12. Although his revelation shocked him and his wife Michelle Duggar, they were glad he decided to come clean. Later on, in 2006, the parents decided to take their kid to the authorities. It was after their family friends Jim, and Bobye Holt suggested it. Jim Bob called it a “difficult time” for his family and admitted to “handling things in the house”.
After the case came into the limelight in 2015, it led to the ’19 Kids and Counting’ cancellation. The reality show was quite popular on TLC. The eldest Duggar sibling also issued a public apology for his misdeeds. Later on, the spin-off show on the Duggars, i.e., Counting On, was canceled by TLC in 2021 after the Child Pornography allegation against the same individual.
Josh Duggar’s Evidentiary Hearing Was About His Molestation Charges!
Josh Duggar will be appearing in front of the court for trial against receiving and possessing Child Pornography content. But, his recent hearing was about his previous molestation charges. This is because there was a debate in the courtroom for his future trial. It was regarding whether the judge should provide evidence against him for the child molestation case. This will probably be done to support the upcoming child molestation trial.
Josh Duggar’s defense emphasized that the cases are more than two decades old. He says the trial will focus on this year’s arrest. So, the information is irrelevant. He also mentioned the supposed felon was a teenager during the time. The defense, i.e., Justin Gelfand, reminded the court that they are solely relying on one person’s testimony for the case. However, the court judge had none of it. He even questioned Gelfand about when these “privileges will begin and end”. The judge also reminded the defense about the importance of child abuse laws.
