Jay and Pamela have been together for five years. They met online and talked for a year before Pamela moved in with his parents. They have several health issues and have pledged to be together despite that. At one point, doctors told Jay that he would not live for more than 5 years.
Moreover, the doctors told Pamela that they would not live for over a year. The duo defied all of these things and survived. As of now, they have broken over 400 bones. The couple is also house hunting, but their health is their concern. Even a simple activity can break their bones. They want to live together happily and peacefully and in good health.
Jay & Pamela Reveal If They Are Planning To Have Kids
Jay and Pamela recently got married, but fans are wondering if they can have kids. One of their two genes has a defect, leading to a collagen deficiency. Collagen is a key component essential for connective tissue that supports the body. This is why their bones are brittle and break easily. A simple task such as walking or even turning sides while sleeping breaks their bones.
As per medical standards, people with osteogenesis imperfecta type 3 can have kids. Women with this condition can conceive and carry kids depending on their symptoms and stage. If a couple has OI, then there is a 50% chance for them to have babies. Jay and Pamela both have OI. In an interview with Parade, they revealed that they often talk about having kids.
It is a conversation they often have, at least once a day. They are taking it slow, but they want babies. They go step by step with everything and define that family unit for them. Pamela shared that kids are not off the table at all. She acknowledged that it is a huge responsibility, so they are taking their time. There are a lot of things she thinks she shouldn’t do but ends up doing them, so as of now, she does not know.
Jay said that they wanted a family. For now, he and Pamela have adopted a dog named Cheddar. He accompanied them as they walked down the aisle.
