Ever since the pandemic hit the world, it seems like all franchise shows have gone into hibernation. The same happened to the much-awaited Ink Master Season 14. The tattoo competition reality show was up and running well for 13 seasons by now. With immense popularity and a massive fan base, the show was set to shoot and release the 14th installment. But, the health crisis hit the world, and everything got shelved. Do the producers plan to release it in the future? Or is it canceled forever?
The pandemic is not the only obstacle that Season 14 of Ink Master is facing. One of the show’s judges also found himself in the middle of a controversy, leading to yet another bump in the show’s revival. One of the judges, Oliver Peck’s blackface pictures, hit the internet, which spiked a massive outrage. This led to Paramount withdrawing his contract with the show. Ink Master Season 14: Renewed Or Cancelled?
Just when Ink Master Season 13 was shooting some of its final episodes in March 2020, the lockdown got announced, and its filming had to shut down. This put the show’s finale into a state of limbo. Right after that, the news broke that Ink Master Season 14 will not be happening.
But then it seems like Paramount decided to change the decision and work on a way to revive their popular reality show. It is evident that shooting the show is not a long process as season 13 was released merely seven months after season 12. The only concern is that the show was announced to release in February 2021. Two months have passed by, and we have not heard from the production house. For now, the confirmed news is that Ink Master Season 14 is definitely returning. The only question is when.
Who Will Be The Contestants? Will The Judges Return?
This season of Ink Master will also star a variety of tattoo artists with unique skills and personalities. The contestants will join the show amid complete health precautions. As usual, the show will start with twenty tattoo artists who will get eliminated as the competition will progress towards the ultimate winner.
The primary question this season regards the experts who will judge these contestants. It is clear that Oliver Peck is certainly not returning since his contract with Paramount is now canceled. The remaining two, Dave Navarro and Chris Núñez, might make a comeback. The show has invited several guest judges from time to time. Maybe one of them will get a permanent seat on the judges’ aisle. Or Paramount could also sweep an all-new panel for a fresh start.
Ink Master Season 14: Release Date
Until now, Paramount Network has made no public announcement regarding the show’s release date. The last we heard from the company was that the show would release in February this year. Although, there are speculations that the next installment will release on Paramount’s streaming service Paramount+.
The show makers usually release the trailer two months before an installment’s premiere. Considering that the show was supposed to roll out in February, this looks like a good time that a trailer is launched. In fact, if the trailer arrives sooner this month, fans might get to watch the new season sometime around the end of May or early June 2021.
