General Hospital: Will Walt Wiley Return For LONGER TIME?

Recently, General Hospital treated its long-time viewers with a really delicious surprise! The soap brought back a yesteryear’s fan-favorite character to Port Charles from Pine Valley! We are talking about Walt Wiley’s most recent appearance as Jack Montgomery. A character that he previously played on the ABC soap, All My Children. Interestingly, this is not the first time “Jack” has crossed over to another soap. Back in 1996, Walt Wiley appeared as Jack on another ABC soap called The City.

However, this time, he has brought his charm and so much more to ABC’s lone-standing soap, General Hospital. Currently, Walt Wiley is seen sharing the screen with Lucy Coe and Felecia Scorpio. Lucy feels that Martin is not being true to her and is hiding a trail of money from her. Thus, Lucy and Felecia decide to go meet Jack Montgomery to uncover more details of what Martin is hiding. In an entertaining sequence, the ladies will arrive at Jack’s office, where Lucy will distract him using her charm and sensuality, while Felicia takes the opportunity to snoop around!

Honestly, the General Hospital preview featuring Jack is just so captivating that we are not surprised by how well-received his cameo is by the fans. Unfortunately, it is going to be a very short stint for Walt Wiley as Jack on the soap. But this has led to fans insistently asking him if he will return for a longer stint in the future. Overwhelmed by the massive outpour of love from General Hospital fans, Walt Wiley took to his official Twitter account to express his gratitude towards the fans, as well as answer the very pressing question!

Walt Wiley Reflects On His Future On General Hospital

In a series of tweets posted by Walt on Twitter, the Daytime legend expressed his “heartfelt gratitude to ALL of” General Hospital fans. He admitted that the love from the viewers has left him “touched and a bit teary-eyed.” He then moved on to share his thoughts on the ongoing writers’ (WGA) and actors’ (SAG-AFTRA) strikes. Urging his fans to pray that it ends soon. Furthermore, Walt Wiley added that the strokes are not only affecting thousands of people but also everyone’s favorite soaps, series, and films. Thus, drawing attention to how huge a hurdle a soap like General Hospital will face. Considering that it produces north of 260 shows a year.

Keeping that in light, Walt proposed that it is very unlikely that General Hospital will be able to offer him a regular place on the cast. Well, at least not anytime soon, even if they were considering it at all. He then reflected that it is completely understandable, as “they have bigger fish to fry right now!” Perhaps pointing at the ongoing strike. This writers’ and actors’ strike is surely going to have a huge impact on productions in the coming days, if all concerned parties do not reach an agreement soon.

Apart from Walt Wiley, many other stars, including Nancy Lee Grahn and Nicholas Chavez have also spoken in support of the strike. However, everyone is hoping that the strike concludes soon, but with a positive outcome for everyone. TV Season & Spoilers also hopes for the same!
