The General Hospital villain who makes everyone struggle on the soap opera is himself going through something. One of GH’s most dangerous villains, Victor Cassadine’s portrayer- Charles Shaughnessy, is going through something in real life. The actor just underwent surgery, and he updated all the fans about it.
Taking onto his Twitter, Shaughnessy put up a status where he said that 22 has always been his “lucky number”! Since yesterday was 22.2.22, he said that it was a good day to get a new hip. It looks like the actor went through a hip replacement surgery yesterday. In a typical hip replacement surgery, the doctor removes the diseased or damaged parts of the hip joint and inserts an artificial joint. When this happens, the artificial joint/joints can be made of metal, ceramic, or very hard plastic.
As soon as the actor posted the update, his fans started sending him good wishes and sharing their own experience with the surgery. One fan sent positive thoughts and smiles for Charles. Another one hoped that everything would go well. Some fans shared their experiences. One fan said that they got their hip replaced in 2008. They were in less pain after their first surgery and said that it was an easy surgery. However, they did hope that Charles Shaughnessy would be fine.
Joining all the fans was General Hospital alum Stephen Nichols who wished Charles good luck and revealed something of his own. He wrote, “Good luck with that, Charlie. I’m looking into a new knee. When a fan read this, they shared their experience. They revealed that they had got a knee replacement done, and after that, they decided to be religious with the exercise and PT. So, they healed more quickly.
We hope and wish Charles recovers soon from this surgery. Usually, hip replacement surgery needs a rest time of 4-6 weeks. So, it is likely that General Hospital viewers might miss Victor on the canvas in the upcoming days. Would you miss him? How will all of this affect the storyline? We will have to wait to know. For now, join us in sending all our best wishes to the actor. We hope he gets better soon.
