General Hospital viewers are aware that Cyrus Renault’s stint as Cyrus Renault on the soap opera ended this June 16. Although as big of a mob boss he was, he was given a somewhat small farewell. Cyrus was shot in a face-off with Jordan Ashford. And now he is going away to the federal penitentiary somewhere in the mid-west. But recently, Cyrus portrayer Jeff Kober opened up about his role, exit, and everything else. So let us find out Cyrus’ fate-
Jeff Kober Opens Up About His General Hospital Stint
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Jeff Kober spoke about his experience in the soap opera. He stated that it was a treat for him. Kober revealed that Cyrus’s stint on the show was supposed to be only three months long. However, it turned into a year-and-a-half-long role. The actor also stated that this gig has given him a new appreciation for daytime. He revealed that the level of education he has gotten from working at General Hospital is incomparable. He also praised the level of writing, directing, and everything that goes into making the soap happen.
Jeff Kober added that the show had given him a lot of ease and room for whatever he wanted to do. All of it was just eye-opening for him. Jeff also expressed his happiness about working at General Hospital. He even thanked his fans for hating him in such a lovely fashion. He appreciated how fans watched every movement of the character. Jeff also revealed that once fans realized that he had mother issues, it had become hard for them to hate him. The actor is currently nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
While Cyrus is out of the canvas, for now, it doesn’t look like he will be gone forever. But the way General Hospital left a window open for his comeback, we can hope that he will come back sooner or later. Keeping in mind how delighted and happy Kober was to work on the sudser, we can expect that he would be up to reprise the role as and when General Hospital decides to bring him back.
