There have been rumors going around for a while about this. General Hospital Spoilers now confirm that the ABC soap indeed has a new writing team. GH has dropped their current head writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor. The duo is now being replaced with two equally talented writers – Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte.
General Hospital spoilers state that both scribes are well-versed in the arena of daytime writing. Elizabeth Korte has been a member of the GH writing team for quite a while in fact. Fans surely remember the ABC soap’s ambitious once-upon-a-time primetime offering – Night Shift. Elizabeth helped helm the drama with Robert Guza Jr. that aired on SOAPnet.
Patrick Mulcahey is no newbie to daytime soaps either. General Hospital spoilers suggest that his previous work includes big and popular names like Guiding Light, Loving and Texas, and Santa Barbara. It was actually Santa Barbara that won him prime recognition, owing to the widespread rage that his writing for super couples – Eden and Cruz, Julia and Mason, and others. He has also previously worked as a scriptwriter and associate head writer on GH from 1983-99.
General Hospital Spoilers: Beginning Of A New Era?
Although the change will be effective immediately, General Hospital spoilers suggest that the impact of it on the screen will take some time to be felt. But this change brings hope to many fans who often complain about the soap and the storylines running in circles. Perhaps a fresh set of head writers will bring not only a fresh perspective but also some new and refreshing ideas. Honestly, GH is one of the longest-running American daytime soap. So, some redundancy is understandable. But little changes like these are what bring a breath of fresh air. And it is most welcome!
