With Nik being out of the picture (at least for now), Spencer has his work cut out for him on General Hospital. Esme has finally and safely given birth to baby Ace on the ABC soap. While, Esme is being every bit the doting and protective mother, Spencer still has his worries in place. Ever since he learned that Esme was pregnant with his father’s baby, he had made up his mind to win his younger sibling’s custody. Spencer was convinced that neither Nik, nor Esme could be ideal parents to the baby. Now that baby Ace is in front of his eyes, his urge to protect him is stronger than ever. Spencer Finds Himself On A CrossRoad
In all fairness, even if Nik were still in the picture, it would not have changed Spencer’s stance even by an inch on General Hospital. As far as Spencer is concerned, Nik has repeatedly failed him as a father. So it’s completely understandable that he doesn’t look at Nik as capable enough to give Ace any better. As for Esme, even if she doesn’t remember her past, no one else in Port Charles would be forgetting her evils any time soon. So Dinosaurs will be back sooner than Spencer’s faith in her abilities to foster a healthy home for Ace to thrive in.
However, his chances of winning Ace’s custody is already plagued by massive uncertainties on General Hospital. Spencer’s best bet is to settle for co-parenting with Esme. But will it be as easy and smooth sailing as it sounds? Especially when he has just started a new romance with Trina? It is no secret that Esme and Trina have a troubled history. Even if Esme has forgotten it, Trina still remembers and possibly feels haunted by it. Hence, it would be hard for her to see Spencer play house with the girl who was hell-bent on destroying her life. What if she asks Spencer to choose between her and Ace-Esme?
Spencer Breaks Up With Trina To Raise Ace With Esme On General Hospital
There is no doubt that Spencer has deep and strong feelings for Trina on General Hospital. But he feels this innate and undeniable need to protect his half-brother. Moreover, he feels like it’s his responsibility to give him an emotionally healthy and safe life that he never got. It will not be that easy for Spencer to turn his back on Ace for the sake of saving his love life. Hence, if circumstances land him in a position where he has to choose between his blossoming relationship with Trina and Ace’s whole life, he will most likely choose the latter.
This could even lead him into moving in with Esme full-time on General Hospital. If that happens, it would certainly act as the final nail in the coffin for Spencer and Trina’s love story. At least for some time. Although, this would certainly break all the hearts that have been beating for Sprina! Especially because the much-adored couple had just recently started to grow closer to each other, giving hope to their fans for a heartening Sprina reunion. However, General Hospital seems to have an affinity for pulling the brakes on Spencer and Trina over and over again! So, will history repeat itself?
