General Hospital viewers know that Cameron Mathison is all set to debut as Drew Cain in the upcoming days. However, before he debuts, he decided to open up about everything that he has been feeling. Recently, the actor spoke to ET, and he revealed how it was like to return to the soap opera world after almost ten years. The actor was a part of All My Children, and now, he is coming to General Hospital.
Speaking about how he felt coming back on the set, he says that he didn’t realize how much he missed all of this until his first day. He added that he doesn’t really get nervous or anxious about going to his job anymore. But, when he was on his way to General Hospital’s set, he was pretty nervous. Mathison says that All My Children was very important to him. Then, coming to General Hospital, he wanted to make an impact. But after his first day, he was like, he didn’t even know how much he missed it.
Talking about how he has worked on himself for this role, the actor says that he had to step up his health and fitness game to come to GH. He also confessed that he is in the best shape of his life right now. Mathison feels better than he has been in decades. He feels good, strong, and feels like his energy level has gone up. The actor says that he knew that everyone in General Hospital was in phenomenal shape. So, he thought that he better steps up his game.
Talking about his health, Cameron Mathison says that battling cancer has given him a new lease on health, fitness, and his life. He says that the whole experience has made him realize that life is short. Mathison also added that when someone goes through something like this, they want to have some takeaway, and the main one for him was that life is short.
Continuing that, Mathison stated that he knows that everyone says it. It is on bumpers stickers and stuff, but nobody truly knows. Nobody knows what tomorrow would bring. Therefore, he suggested making the most of life, in terms of health and tangible things, as it is just to be in tune with your own body. He advised everyone to listen to what happens when you eat something, and it doesn’t feel right. So, just really tune in with that because the body is always telling you something. And that’s what saved his life.
Mathison will make his debut this August 17, 2021, at General Hospital. So, make sure you tune in and enjoy. He is stepping in Billy Miller‘s shoes to take on the role of Drew Cain. Right now, Drew is in some problems. Soon, he will call Sam for help. Would Sam be able to help Drew out of whatever problem he is in? It will be interesting to see what he brings to the table.
