General Hospital has passed through a literal storm in the previous weeks. In the wake of it, many prime characters of the ABC soap ended up dead. While the unexpected deaths made for phenomenal shock value and a thrilling watch, they will surely create a void in the coming episodes. Too many spots will become empty to be taken up on the screen. Does that mean we can expect to see a slew of new characters entering General Hospital soon? It’s a possibility! However, there are many existing characters that would do well if pushed to the forefront.
The teen brigade of General Hospital, Trina, Spencer, Cam, and Esme, have all outgrown their hormone-ridden years and have entered the world of adults. This has also created space for some new teen drama on the soap. Perhaps, General Hospital can target two birds with one stone! The existing lot of young guns like Jake, Charlotte, Danny, and Aiden can be aged up. They will do well to fill the empty slots! It will sort of be a natural progression for the existing storylines and families to move forward on the soap.
Is It Time To Age Jake Spencer On General Hospital?
In one of the recent episodes of General Hospital, Liz was shown reflecting on her thoughts as she held a photograph of her kids. Interestingly, some fans noticed that the photograph included only two of Liz’s children, Cam and Aiden. Jake was conspicuously missing from the photograph. This sparked speculation regarding his future on the soap. Not only was Jake missing from the photo, he has also been missing from the soap off late.
Perhaps the young actor who portrays Jake is unavailable, or the character itself has nothing to do in the current scenario of General Hospital. However, all of that could change if the makers age Jake up and the rest of the young kids to make way for a new slot of teens! The soap has been running successfully for 60 years now, and hence has viewers from all age groups. So to keep the younger viewers invested, it’s essential to have some stories surrounding the younger cast members. Do you also think it’s time for these kids to grow up? If Jake is getting a recast, who would you like to see portray his character? Tell us in the comments. Meanwhile, stay tuned to ABC to see what’s coming up next on General Hospital.
