General Hospital viewers know that Sonny is coming back. While Sonny’s portrayer Maurice Benard was always on the soap, his character was suffering from amnesia and hence had forgotten everything. So, he built a new life and started going by the name of “Mike.” However, the September 17, 2021 episode of General Hospital saw Sonny formally coming back. He remembered everything and even called his wife’s name. Now that Sonny has remembered everything, we can’t help but wonder how everything will pan out there.
Maurice Benard spoke to Soap Opera Digest, and he gave the publication a preview of what’s coming up next. Benard says that when he comes back as Sonny, he will be intense. It will be more intense than anything he has ever portrayed. It will be deadly, and there will be no traces of “Mike.” The actor also revealed that Sonny would have to fight to get his loved ones back.
Speaking more about it, Maurice says that when he comes back as Sonny, he is the Sonny from a year ago. This Sonny knows that he has been f**cked with. He also knows that he isn’t where he was supposed to be. But, he won’t be like he has missed the eight months of his life. He will be on his way to go home to his family. But he won’t feel like he has been gone for a year. Instead, he will feel bad for the people who have been mourning for him.
Benard also explains that he has no idea of whatever has happened in Port Charles. He knows that right now, he is in Nixon Falls, and he wants to go back to his family and especially his wife. While the actor did not completely reveal what would happen when he sees Carly and Jason together, he hinted that when he gets back and sees Jason and Carly making out or doing something like that, he will be taken aback. Without revealing much, the actor says that they will be some good scenes. Something that will pull the viewers on the edge of their seats.
