Spencer has been having a tough time on General Hospital for the longest stretch now. Things got even worse for the young Cassadine when he landed at the Pentonville prison. However, in the nick of time uncle, Cyrus leaped in and saved Spencer from a harsh beating at the hands of a fellow inmate. Although the audiences cheered Cyrus’s return on GH, his nephew Spencer was not ecstatic. Well, going by Cyrus’s devious past and questionable ways, we can’t really blame Spencer! Can we?
However, it looks like Cyrus is back to stay! At least for a while! And actor Jeff Kober who plays Cyrus on General Hospital is quite pleased about it! Jeff told Soap Opera Digest, that, they had put him (Cyrus) in a far off Federal Prison but then brought him to Pentonville. Then they put Spencer there so they would have each other to interact with. Jeff says, Cyrus is trying to protect him because “he’s his grand-nephew.”
While Spencer does not quite believe that Cyrus is actually trying to help him, Jeff says otherwise. He actually believes Cyrus is trying to help Spencer survive his time in prison. The General Hospital actor insinuates that all signs point to the fact that “Cyrus has changed”. Of course, he probably hasn’t, Jeff resonated with Spencer’s sentiment. “But I believe that he actually is trying to change.” Jeff noted. Although, he did admit that there still is some rage inside him that leaks sometimes. So we will all have to wait and see where it goes.
A Lot More Of Cyrus To Come On, General Hospital!
Jeff Kober’s Cyrus was supposed to be a short role in General Hospital. But when he debuted in 2020 as the latest devil in town, he cwon a lot of fanfare. He really makes for an entertaining watch! However, it was later revealed that he is Laura’s brother. Having family in Port Charles made sure he stuck around longer than earlier thought. And of course, keep the doors open for subsequent returns.
Jeff shared that he will be recording for three more episodes soon. He is off to Texas for a while, and upon return, he starts shooting “rightcz off the bat”. The actor added that he hopes it keeps continuing because he loves how fantastic it is to work here. He loves bringing out of him the skill sets it requires to get the job done. “It keeps me alive in a way that other jobs don’t.” he confessed.
We love watching Cyrus on screen! However, even we are confused if he has really changed or is just pulling a fast one on Spencer. What do you think? Is the baddie really trying to be good?
