Grab your tissues; it’s a very difficult goodbye for all General Hospital fans. GH star Jane Elliot who plays the role of Tracy Quartermaine on the soap opera, is exiting from the show. General Hospital fans know that Elliot’s most recent appearance came on Monday, January 3, when Tracy came bearing the news of her husband, Luke’s demise.
She showed up at Laura’s to share the heartbreaking news with everyone. Tracy revealed that Luke died in a cable car accident in Austria. All citizens of Port Charles tried comforting Tracy for her loss. Tracy blamed herself for lashing out at him for choosing to return to Austria instead of staying with her.
Port Charles came together to commemorate their loved one and pay their respects. Then, there were also a few dramatic moments. When everyone gathered to say goodbye, including Victor crashing the event, Helena appearing via video. And the arrival of Luke’s ex-wife Jennifer Smith. Luke’s memorial drama was followed by Tracy getting arrested. But, Anna had the warrant voided, which prevented Tracy from going to prison.
Since everything is said and done now, it looks like it’s time when Tracy will leave again. This is indeed a very difficult goodbye for everyone at Port Charles. Speaking of difficult goodbyes, Ned portrayer Wally Kurth will have the hardest time. In a recent interview with Soap opera Digest, Wally said that he and Jane were very close. The actor told the publication that Ned and Tracy’s characters are saying goodbye to one another once again.
Although Jane is a recurring character on the soap so she might come back for some interesting storyline. But as for now, this will be it. Long-time GH viewers know that Wally and Jane have known each other for the longest time. Before Kurth took on the role of Ned from Kurt Mckinney in 1991, he and Elliott played lovers on Days Of Our Lives. Now it’s time to bid adieu once again; Wally calls it a very strong and profound goodbye.
