We have known for a while that Nikolas Cassadine’s run as the Dark Prince was coming to an end on General Hospital. Actor Marcus Coloma had already exited the ABC soap, and actor Adam Huss was filling in as Nik just long enough to take his storyline to its conclusion. However, what we didn’t know was what this conclusion would be. Would Nik be written off the story as having run away from Port Charles. Perhaps after kidnapping Esme’s baby to start a new life. Or would he end up getting held captive by someone on the soap? Very much like he held Esme! One can always count on uncle Victor to kidnap a family member!
But those who tuned in to the previous episode of General Hospital know what actually went down with Nik. He barged in to confront Ava, and they got into a heated argument. Nik starts unraveling at the speed of light and hits a nerve with Ava. He retorts that he will kidnap her daughter Avery and run away with her. And that was that! The fierce and protective she-wolf that Ava is, she responded physically to Nikolas’s threat. In a fit of blinding rage, Ava smashed Nik’s head with a statue. Going by the blood that pooled around, it seems Nikolas Cassadine is DEAD!
Ava will call Austin to help her get rid of Nik’s body on General Hospital. We are still in a little disbelief that GH actually killed the Man of the Manor! We, as well as many other fans, were hoping for a more temporary end to Nik’s story. Something that would keep him offscreen for a plausible reason, but would leave the door open for his return as and when feasible. But then, we have learned over the years that even death is not the end of life for soap character! So if the makers wish, they can always create a new door for Nik to return.
However, at least for now, this is the end for Nik, and so it is for Adam Huss on General Hospital. The fine actor has left a rather remarkable impression on the fans in his short time as the character. Adam took to his Instagram account to bid homage to his time on the ABC soap. He made a carousel post consisting of a few snapshots of him with co-stars Nicholas Chavez and Genie Francis and another post with shots of Maura West. Adam expressed how honored he feels to be stepping into a legacy soap like General Hospital. Furthermore, he addressed his fans and their love and praised his dynamic co-stars.
Adam Huss feels like he is one lucky guy to have had the opportunity to portray Nik on General Hospital. He certainly did a swell job at it, and we really wish we get to see more of him soon!
