The first season of the series released recently, and all fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for more. The show follows the relationship between two best friends Tully and Kate, who have been inseparable ever since they became neighbors on the Firefly lane back in eighth grade.

What’s The Renewal Status?
The first season of Firefly Lane was released this February 2021, and we do not have any official word on whether or not Firefly Lane Season 2 would happen. With that said, since it has only been a day since the first season was released, we think it is too soon to draw any conclusions.
Given the way the first season of the series ended, there are a number of questions that need addressing. The finale episodes of the series also introduced major new drama. If we did not get a second season of Firefly Lane, Tully and Kate’s storyline would always be open-ended. So, we can expect another season of the series. Netflix usually takes the time of about six months to a year. So, it is possible that Netflix might be analyzing the viewership figures at the moment.
What Would Happen Next?
The first season of the series had been teasing the death of a major character. In the first season, it seems like Kate and her daughter Marah are about to go to Tully’s funeral. By the end of the season, Firefly implies that Johnny had passed away, but then viewers come to know that Kate’s father- Bud, had passed away. The season also teased that something happened that affected Tully and Kate to affect their friendship in the present time. However, the series has not clarified any specifics.
The series is based on Kristin Hannah’s book with the same name. The first season followed the first book of the series. There is also a sequel to the Firefly Lane book that is titled Fly Away. The first season of the series only featured half the events of the first book, so it is safe to assume that a lot of content is still left for the creators to use in the next seasons of the series.
When Firefly Lane Season 2 comes, it would indeed come bearing a number of answers that the first season of the series left. Given that the show isn’t renewed yet, it is a tricky business to predict when Firefly Lane Season 2 would release. If Netflix does renew the show sooner, we can expect to see new episodes in the first half of 2022. The first season of the series started production sometime in September 2020 and finished in January 2021.
