Former Emmerdale Star Sheree Murphy Teases Her Return With A ‘Evil’ Twist
ITV soaps have hopped on to the trend of bringing back former dead characters. Recently, the former Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy hints at the same for her character, Tricia Dingle. She was written off from the soap two decades back. However, the actress is hoping for her to rise from the dead.
Murphy was a crucial part of Emmerdale for eight long years. Then, in the year 2010, she swapped Tricia for Hollyoaks’ Eva Strong. Fans may recall Tricia’s death as it was one of the most iconic scenes. She died due to coming in contact with a lightning storm. Recently, the soap star expressed, “But with Mark Charnock, we always used to say, “Can’t they write in Tricia’s evil twin?”
Sheree suggested that the plot could be like “Tricia” returning to Emmerdale looking for her family. While everyone assumes that it’s Tricia, boom- she is actually her ‘evil’ twin. The 44-year-old actress also commented that soaps have done much more stupid things. So, why not this?
The Emmerdale actress shared that she loved playing the character. While accepting that she regrets leaving the soap, she said that she should have asked for a ‘time out’ instead of an exit. She revealed that when she discussed it with former producer Steve Frost, his immediate reply kind of shocked her.
The producer told her, “Oh great, we’ve got a really good storyline, actually. We’re going to kill about four people off. We’re going to give it to you now!” Now, the Tricia actress realises that she should have fought for her character. Well, we do hope she and the makers find a way to write her back into the story!
