Emmerdale fans were shattered after the sad ending of Eric Pollard’s (Chris Chittell) and Brenda Walker’s (Lesley Dunlop) relationship. A heartbroken, Eric is trying to distance himself from his loved ones because he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He believes he is protecting them from getting hurt later. Emmerdale: Are Eric and Brenda Really Done?
In the November 8 episode of Emmerdale, Eric is having a difficult time as he breaks up with Brenda. Eric made this heartbreaking decision after a doctor confirmed he had Parkinson’s disease the same day. The pensioner is trying to push all his loved ones away in order to protect them from getting hurt later. Other than Mandy Dingle, no one is aware of Eric’s disease.
After having a heated argument with Brenda, he declares that he wants to slip up. Brenda was numb, she expressed her wish to talk about it after returning from her. When she returned, she found Eric had already made up his mind and was solid about his decision.
When Brenda asked for an explanation, Eric replied, “You want to know the full ugly truth? You have always compared yourself unfavourably with Val and even Faith. Brenda claimed he had always consoled her she was wrong about it, but Eric bluntly stated, “I was lying. He added that she was no match for either of them. He continued, “It’s not that anything is wrong between us; it’s just that nothing has ever been right.” An emotional Brenda, while crying, asked, “So you don’t love me anymore?” Eric brutally replied that he wasn’t sure if he ever did.
Jacob Finds Out The Truth, Fans Think Eric’s Words Were Harsh
In the last episode of Emmerdale, Eric’s grandson Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) finds out the truth while he doing a shift at the doctor’s. Eric was being tough about his decision to end his relationship with Brenda, but it was clear that he really wanted to be with her. Eric finally had someone to talk his heart out. Jacob suggested Eric get back with Brenda, and he arranged a meet. But Brenda was truly hurt, and she said that he didn’t want to meet him again. Despite holding tears in his eyes, Eric accepted that it was really over for them.
Additionally, Emmerdale fans were unhappy with Eric’s choice of words. They believe that regardless of his condition and his good intentions, he went way too harsh on Brenda.
