Emmerdale is set to welcome Coronation Street alum Paula Lane as the newest cast member, Ella Forster. Popularly known for her role as Kylie Platt on Corrie, Lane’s debut on Emmerdale is scheduled for January. Ella will enter the village by standing up for Mandy Dingle at a Veterinary Ball. Kate Brooks, the producer of Emmerdale, is looking forward to Lane’s powerful performance. She hinted at how complicated Ella’s character is. Paula Is Thrilled To Be A Part Of Emmerdale, Reveals Big Plans For Her Character
Paula Lane, a Coronation Street veteran, will play Ella Forster in Emmerdale. Lane is best known for playing tragic Kylie Platt on Corrie between 2010 and 2016. According to reports, she will begin filming on Emmerdale this month and debut in January. Ella, a “compassionate and caring” character, meets Paddy and Mandy Dingle at a Veterinary Ball. She loses her job for standing up for Mandy, but she’s no pushover. But, she will get lucky when she meets Manpreet Sharma. Ella soon starts getting attention in the village.
Lane has also been a part of ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘Father Brown.’ She said that she is so excited to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. She expressed, “Everyone has been so welcoming, and I can’t wait to start a new chapter playing the role of Ella. I’ve already heard there are big plans for her.” She asserted that she can’t wait to see her navigate a new life in the village and hopefully make some friends!
Emmerdale maker Kate Brooks shared, “Ella is a complex and multi-layered character who comes to the village. Ostensibly, she’s a good, moral character, but is there more to her than meets the eye?” She said that they are absolutely thrilled to welcome an actor of Paula’s caliber to the show.
