His secret was revealed through the flashbacks when Belle was providing their alibi for Craig’s murder mystery. Emmerdale: Flashback Reveals Tom’s Big Secret
The suspicion on Tom King started growing when he didn’t tell Belle about his mum’s death. He chose to distance her when she went up to him. In the recent episode, it was revealed that Tom caused not only emotional pain to Belle but physical, too. It happened in a flashback scene when Belle informed Dingles about her whereabouts when Craig was killed.
Belle shared that she was on a romantic dinner with Tom, which was followed by a proposal. It was revealed that Belle declined his proposal, considering all that was going on in her family. Also, she wasn’t ready as they had just moved in together. While Belle told her family that Tom took the rejection well, in reality, he got angry with her. When he was walking away, Belle tried to reach his arm, but he pushed her instead, screaming, “Just leave me alone!” Belle fell and hit her head on the coffee table and started bleeding.
Fans Call Tom A ‘Red Flag’ After The Incident
Tom immediately started apologising for pushing her on Emmerdale. He said, “I was too busy thinking about myself, I shouldn’t have pushed you like that.” Belle was a bit baffled due to hitting her head. She just said that she was fine and wasn’t scared of him, but it was clearly evident that she was shocked. In a weeping voice,
Tom said, “Why would you ever want to marry me now? I need you to know how much I love you.” To which Belle replied, “Yeah, I don’t think you’d have proposed if you didn’t.” Tom asked for another chance and promised it wouldn’t happen ever again. While he collapsed into tears on her lap, Belle comforted him by saying that she had already forgotten about it.
After this incident, the Emmerdale fans took to Twitter (X) to discuss Tom’s behaviour. One fan posted, “Tom like father like son.” While another sympathised with Belle and wrote, “Poor Belle.
