Back in 2010, EastEnders played out a shocker of an episode when the Walford legend, Bradley Branning, fell to his death from the roof. Actor Charlie had stepped into the role in 2006 and rose to instant fame. The character and the actor were both very well received by the viewers. Especially his on and off romance with Stacey Slater.Thus, it came as a huge shock when Charlie exited the BBC One soap after 4 years.
On EastEnders, Charlie played the down on luck property salesman. He even won soap awards for his portrayal of Bradley. Additionally, he also won recognition at the British Soap and Inside Soap Awards for the same role. After stepping away from the BBC One soap, Charlie did a few gigs on the stage. He also did some on-screen work, including the touring production of The Haunting in 2011. But his biggest claim to fame still remains, EastEnders, even after 13 years of his exit.
However, these days the EastEnders alum is leading a life quite different that the glamorous world of acting. He even seems to have changed his look drastically since we last saw him on the screen. In pictures posted by Charlie on his Instagram, he is sporting a full fledged beard. But in his signature red hair, of course. Apart from trying a new look, Charlie also has tried his hands at many different career options after quitting the screen.
Although, Charlie has previously insisted in interviews that the career changes are temporary. He mentioned that eventually he might want to return to his acting roots. Moreover, he expressed his love for EastEnders and insisted that he loved his time on the show. And that he is grateful for the opportunity it gave him and the stories he got to tell. However, we don’t know if he will ever return to Walford on EastEnders.
