However, she recently opened up to the media that she feels like it’s time for her to “spread her wings” and fly away from Walford. The news has certainly taken the internet and EastEnders fans by storm. But like they say, every ending comes with a new beginning! And Shona’s case is no different.
The latest news making rounds is that the soap star is well on her way to becoming a reality TV star! A source close to BBC’s rival channel, ITV revealed that Shona McGarty is on top of their wish-list to star on the upcoming reality show, Dancing on Ice! This sounds like a start contrast to anything the actress has done so far! But is it really true?
Reportedly, the EastEnders star is now all set to chill a little! The word on the block is that Shona will be appearing on the reality TV show, Dancing On Ice. However, thankfully, the viewers will not have to say an instant goodbye, as Shona’s exit won’t air until next year. Shona’s contract with EastEnders will end in 2024, and that’s when her final scenes will air. The makers are still contemplating on Whitney’s exit storyline from the BBC soap.
While we don’t know if Whitney will get her happy ending on EastEnders or not, but we can sense that Shona really has some very happy days ahead! A source close to ITV told The Sun that Shona is on top of the channel’s wish-list for Dancing On Ice. Shona is a “great name” for the show, she is a huge talent, and a well-known name, they said. Moreover, “to walk off EastEnders and straight onto their rival channel’s biggest show would be a huge coup,” the source added.
Shona McGart joined the cast of EastEnders at the young age of 16, back in 2008. Ever since then she has tackled many of the soap’s most hard-hitting stories. Moreover, her incredible talent has worked in her favour and has won her many fans. Thus, her walking away from the soap will certainly be a huge loss.
