2023 is ending with a loud bang on EastEnders. The latest spoilers reveal that 2024 will begin with an equally louder bang and a lot more drama. Especially with the return of the Branning cousins -Lauren and Penny. While, initially upon return, Lauren does not plan on staying home for too long. However, a life-changing secret is revealed that keeps her rooted in Walford. But what is this huge revelation? Keep reading to find out!
In episodes yet to air, Lauren Branning makes her way back to Walford alongside her cousin- Penny. The two spend New Year’s Eve together in Paris. However, something that transpires that day forces the ladies to drop everything and return home the very next day. However, upon arrival in Walford, Lauren gets into some trouble with the law. After some struggle and drama, she is released and finally arrives at the Square.
Lauren heads straight to be reunited with her son Louie on EastEnders. There, Peter tries to convince her to stay home a little bit longer. Not even before she could make up her mind about it, Penny unwittingly reveals that Peter knows Lauren’s secret but doesn’t mention it. This infuriates Lauren, and she decides to immediately leave Walford to go live with her mother – Tanya.
A New Secret Unravels On EastEnders
As news spreads through Walford, about Lauren’s arrival, Linda begins to fear. She does not want Lauren to find out that Annie is her sister on EastEnders. As we already know, Linda is already hanging by a thread after killing Keanu Taylor. So, it is absolutely understandable that she does not want any more complications in her life at the moment. Especially not something that would bring her to think about her affair with Max Branning.
Linda has a word about it with some ladies of the Square, and Whitney agrees that they should keep it a secret. Unfortunately for Linda, just as Lauren prepares to leave with Louie on EastEnders, Sonia spills the beans. She tells Lauren that she has another sister in Walford that she does not know about yet. As expected, Lauren is furious to find out the truth. She storms straight to The Vic to confront Linda. Lauren demands to know why Linda has been keeping this huge secret from her.
Interestingly, this won’t be the first time Linda and Lauren clash on EastEnders. The latter had once accused the former of breaking her father’s heart.
