EastEnders is riding high on the well received shocking returns of some of the most iconic past characters to Albert Square. The most prominent one amongst them being Cindy Beale. Now, the latest media reports reveal that yet another fan favorite character is about to return to Walford and fans can’t keep calm! It’s none other than Lauren Branning portrayed by the much loved Jacqueline Jossa!
The last time we saw the riveting character on the screen was back in December when she returned for a brief appearance for Dot Cotton’s funeral. She also made another quickie appearance on EastEnders when Cindy Beale returned in June. But now, the fan favorite character will return to the square for an actual stay. As of now, not much has been revealed about her come back storyline. But fans can rest assured that Lauren will certainly be stirring some pots!

Jacqueline recently confirmed her comeback to the media and shared her excitement over returning to the BBC One soap. “It’s such an amazing time to be back,” she stated. Furthermore, the actress pointed that there is just too much buzz around EastEnders at the moment. She also admitted that she has been binging and enjoying the show like a fan these days. During the chat, she told The Sun that the soap holds a special place in her heart and going back to it is like returning home.
While the makers are remaining tight lipped about Lauren’s return story, and Insider spilled a teaser! The source claims that owing to her long history on EastEnders, Lauren has a lot of scores to settle with many characters. Further hinting that there will be some really explosive scenes ahead. Moreover, her come back is slated for the end of 2023. Interestingly, the soap will be belting out it’s festive storylines at the time so fans can expect Lauren’s story to intersect those!
The source also informed the media that Jacqueline will start filming her return on EastEnders in a couple of weeks. Moreover, her old cast mates are really excited to have her back and can’t wait to start shooting with her.
