EastEnders: BBC Soap Star Jacqueline Jossa Breaks Silence on Her Dance with Anxiety

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning) has recently opened up about her battle with anxiety. Many people prefer being low-key and solitude to deal with their jitters. EastEnders star Jossa has spoken up about seeking professional help to ease her anxious thoughts. She has admitted to opting for therapy sessions. The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner made her debut on EastEnders in 2010. She was employed full-time on the soap till 2018. Nevertheless, with Lauren having an explosive storyline this time, Jossa is back with a bang!

Speaking to the Sun, Jacqueline confessed to going through trials and tribulations much like her character Lauren Branning. The actress also admitted to seeking professional help. She said, “I think everyone should have therapy. It’s absolutely amazing.” Continuing, she expressed that she had been seeking help since she was 17. She has always been open about talking to someone and has been frequent with aid whenever needed.

The actress also shared insights into her experience with anxiety. She revealed that she sometimes broods over her presence when she’s in a bath. Like how insignificant her existence is, having multiple layers surrounding her. Layers include bathroom, house, street, city, country, water, planet, and galaxy.

Moreover, Jossa acknowledged overthinking things that exist just in her head, not in the real world. It makes her realise that she’s just a dot on this planet. And that the presence of other things around her brings a sense of humility. It makes her think, ‘This too shall pass; you’re going to be OK.’

Jossa’s Return and Major Deal with EastEnders

The actress made a permanent comeback on the soap on New Year’s Day following a cameo in 2023. She returned then as part of Thomas Law’s comeback as Peter Beale. However, this time, she’s back for the long haul. Jossa addressed her return, saying, “I’m really excited. It’s such an amazing time to be back, as there is so much buzz around EastEnders at the moment.” And that she has been watching and loving the soap like a fan. She concluded, “Walford holds a special place in my heart, so it really does feel like coming home.”

Before her comeback, Jossa negotiated a major deal with the soap. The deal enabled her to pursue lucrative brand deals without interruption. A spokesperson said, “As with all talent, we are working with Jacqueline Jossa to ensure her pre-existing deals do not conflict with the show or BBC guidelines.”
