BBC One’s EastEnders is on a spree these days when it comes to bringing back past characters. The year 2023 has seen some really shocking returns, the biggest one still being – Cindy Beale. Most recently, we saw the much hated rapist, Dean Wicks, arrive in Walford as Cindy and Ian Beale’s new partner for the pie shop. In the latest episode fans got a surprise when lost gem – Bailey Baker suddenly appeared on their TV screens.
The last time we saw Bailey walked the grounds of Walford was back in August. However, she re-entered EastEnders in the November 15, 2023, episode. Moreover, the minute she set foot in Albert Square, she spelled trouble for Karen Taylor. The Taylor matriarch is currently embroiled neck deep in Keanu Taylor’s drama. Her son got them both in a lot of trouble in his bid to escape with his son – Albie. His escape plan had gone sideways, and turned into a full-blown kidnapping drama.
To put an end to the dramatics, and bring Albie back home safe, Keanu slipped a ransom note under Sharon’s door on EastEnders. She complied to the “kidnapper’s” demands and paid the 50k ransom. However, Karen has been hiding the money with her ever-since. Now, in the latest scenes that aired yesterday, Bailey interrupted Karen and Mitch’s conversation to take permission to use Karen’s holdall for a sleepover. The very bag in which Karen stuffed away the ransom money earlier for safe keeping.
The mere mention of the bag set Karen in panic mode and she fervently denied Bailey from even touching the bag on EastEnders. She then proceeded to hand the teen a Minute Mart tote bag for use. Bailey was visibly confused by Karen’s reaction but chose to let the matter slide. At least for now, if not permanently! Mitch, too, picked up on Karen’s odd behaviour, but refrained from saying anything and chose to leave in silence. But this made one thing very clear. Karen is beginning to crack under the pressure.
