When Suki arrived on EastEnders back in 2020, she appeared to be a repressed character with strained family ties. Her husband, Nish, is a dominating control freak, while her son, Vinny, is showing a mean violent streak these days on the soap. Apart from that, Suki has been shown to have a conflicted relationship with her daughter too! Suki’s daughter, Dr. Ash Kaur, identifies as a bisexual on the soap, and her sexual preferences have always created trouble between her and Suki.
However, over the years on EastEnders, as Suki’s storyline progressed, many layers of the Panesar matriarch came to light. The most shocking of them all has been her own bisexual urges! Currently, Suki is on the forefront of the BBC soap as she tackles her relationship with Eve. Meanwhile, Dr. Ash is living blissfully ignorant of it all in Canada. Actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha exited the soap after her character, Ash, accepted a job in Canada and left Walford. As of now, she has no clue about her mother’s struggles with embracing her own bisexuality.
Recently, in a media chat, Actress Balvinder Sopal (Suki), admitted that this would be the perfect time for her on-screen daughter, Ash, to return to EastEnders. Suki is really struggling with the chaos her life has become ever since she got attracted to Eve. However, she was forced to pull the plug on it when Vinny found out and threatened with dire circumstances. Balvinder told RadioTimes.com that she would like to see Ash return and have an honest conversation with her mom. That is, if Suki and Eve ever get a chance to go public with their relationship.
Will Ash’s Return Repair Her Bond With Suki On EastEnders?
The EastEnders star pointed that it is an important conversation and it really needs to happen. Furthermore, she reflected that even if Ash returns just for a short visit, it could facilitate a reconciliation. An honest chat could repair their relationship as mother and daughter. This would give Ash an insight on why her mother was the way she was with her. This would finally bring closure, forgiveness and restore love and respect between them.
Speaking about her character, Balwinder Sopal admitted that she likes Suki’s nastier side on EastEnders. Although she clarified that there is always a reason why she gets nasty. “I prefer the bit*h side,” she asserted. Well, we hope Suki continues to grow fiercer and learns to take a stand for herself. Enough of being submissive to her murderous husband, Nish! What do you say? Do you like Suki’s mean side? Tell us in the comments.
