Danny Dyer became a household name thanks to his iconic portrayal of Mick Carter on EastEnders. Fans loves the character, and more so, his pairing with the love of his life – Linda Carter. And why not? The couple were breath-taking together. Unfortunately, their love story came to a screeching end, as all beautiful thing must, eventually. During Christmas 2022, pot-stirrer Janine Butcher caused a car crash that sprung Mick and Linda into the sea.
Amid the tragedy, all Mick could think of was saving his love – Linda Carter on EastEnders. However, she insisted that Mick first help Janine, who was actually pregnant with his baby. Mick followed Linda’s advice, and soon returned to the waters to help his wife. However, by then she had pulled herself to shore’s safety. Unfortunately, Mick got lost in the sea after that. Despite many attempts, no one could find him -dead or alive. That was the last time fans saw Danny as Mick on the BBC One soap.
However, there have been many mentions of him ever since. Both by EastEnders characters, as well as, fans. But Mick Carter was not Danny’s only claim to fame. Before he debuted on the soap, he also featured as Tommy Johnson in 2004 sports drama The Football Factory. Now, the latest news reports that the actor is all set to reprise his role as Tommy! A source revealed to The Sun that filming for The Football Factory 2 will commence in January 2024.
“It’s a real passion project for Danny who can’t wait to get his teeth back into the role,” the source added. Well, we are thrilled that he is reprising and reinventing Tommy for The Football Factory. However, we would be all the more ecstatic if he decided to reprise Mick on EastEnders. In fact, if there was a perfect time to do it, it would be now! His brother and nemesis – Dean Wick has just recently returned to Walford, and is constantly crossing swords with Linda.
Wouldn’t it be perfect to see Mick return home and take a stand against his brother for his wife on EastEnders? We are all for it! What about you? Tell us in the comments. Meanwhile, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for more EastEnders updates on the possibility of Danny Dyer’s return as Mick Carter.
